Basil is an annual aromatic plant belonging to the Lamiaceae family. Its leaves are deep green in color and broad green. The characteristic aroma of basil makes it perfect for use in various dishes of Italian cuisine.
BASIL ORIGIN
Basil is native to India and tropical Asia where it grows spontaneously. Traces of it can be found in ancient Greece and in Italy from the time of Alexander the Great and from the 16th century it began to be cultivated also in England and was subsequently brought to the Americas.
