Italian Pomegranate

The pomegranate has a thick and rough edible skin of a bright red color. Inside the pomegranate is rich in arils that contain a very sweet juice. Normally the pomegranate reaches a diameter of 7-8 cm.
Italian pomegranate is characteristic for its grains that enclose an abundant and very sweet juice.

The pomegranate grows in tropical and subtropical climates. Although the tree can adapt to climatic conditions and different types of soil, it grows better in regions with cold winters and very hot summers.  The pomegranate tree can reach 6 or 7 meters in height. It produces large trumpet-shaped flowers and its fruits are generally harvested 5-7 months after flowering, when they are completely ripe, since they do not continue to ripen after harvesting.
