Italian Lime

Lime is a citrus fruit belonging to the Rutaceae family. The files have a rounded shape and usually do not exceed 6 cm in diameter and have a thin emerald green skin. The pulp is rich in juice and is usually used to flavor dishes and drinks.

Originally from Asia, it was imported into the Americas by the Portuguese. The lime, unlike the other citrus fruits, favors tropical climate. In recent years due to the overheating of the planet, Italian regions such as Sicily and Calabria have become fertile ground for the cultivation of Italian lime.
