Papaya belongs to the family of the Caracee. With an elongated shape and medium-large dimensions, it can even reach a weight of 1 kg; the thin skin has a green-yellow color, inside the flesh is soft and contains numerous black seeds. Formosa papaya contains an important enzyme, papain, known for its regenerative properties.
PAPAYA ORIGIN
Papaya is thought to be native to Central America. Nowadays it is cultivated in different countries with tropical and sub-tropical climate as the hot and humid temperature favors its development. The plant can reach up to 8 meters in height.
