Description

LONGAN FEATURES
Longan can be considered as a minor “cousin” of the most famous litchis and rambutan, both belonging to the Sapindaceae family. The Longan, which in the Tagalog language means “dragon eye”, is so called because of the similarity of the fruit to an eyeball when it is shelled. The taste is very similar to that of a litchis but with marked earthy and fungal notes.

LONGAN ORIGIN
Longan is native to Southeast Asia and widely used in local cuisine as well as fresh fruit as a base for sauces, soups, syrups and infusions used in herbal medicine.
