Peaches have a rounded shape and have a yellow-orange peel that can be smooth or covered with light hair depending on the variety. The peach pulp is very sweet and juicy may be yellow or white.
Originally from China where she was a symbol of immortality, she arrived in Italy thanks to Alexander the Great. Today the peach tree grows spontaneously in temperate climates and is widely cultivated throughout the Mediterranean basin and in counter-season in South America and Australia.
