Lemon belongs to the Rutaceae family. An ancient hybrid of pomelo and cedar these days it is an autonomous species. The lemon, widespread due to its numerous uses, has a hard, bright yellow skin and a soft pulp that is normally squeezed to take its juice.
Originally from the East, today it is widespread in different parts of the world. Widely cultivated also in Italy, the lemon in season covers the whole summer period and is cultivated in Argentina and Chile.
