Cherimoya is a plant belonging to the Annonaceae family. The fruit has a roundish shape, slightly elongated on the lower part and seems similar to the heart one. The green skin is similar to the back of a tortoise and the very soft white flesh is rich in inedible black seeds. Cherimoya has a sweet taste reminiscent of the taste of yogurt.
Cherimoya is native to the Andes, is cultivated in several countries, including the United States (California), Chile, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Spain, Israel and Australia.
